April 1st started off with a visit from our cousins who were moving from Georgia to Utah and decided to stop by and visit for a few days.
Brooklyn loves when she gets to play with someone her age.
Too cute.....wish they got to see each other more often.
Trampoline Time
Speaking of trampolines, Mikayla was jumping on the trampoline and twisted her ankle which became swollen and too painful to walk on. So she got to use crutches for a couple days. The first day I think she kind of enjoyed them but realized quickly they weren't all that fun when her armpits started hurting and she wasn't able to move as quickly and freely as she likes to. Luckily it was just for a couple of days.
Katelyn finds herself falling asleep sometimes in strange positions
Checking out the local train replica with Brooklyn
Mikayla and Kambria petting the baby pigs at a street party.
These kids really wanted to play in the rain. With temps only in the 60's I thought it was a little too cold but then decided it didn't really matter since I'm not the one getting in it. Although if I did, I think I would be dressed more like Brooklyn was.
So they got their fun in the rain.
Crazy kids
Silly kids
April showers bring May flowers
Katelyn turned 8 months old in May and started crawling. She only did the army crawl for about a week and then decided it was easier to get on all fours to crawl.
And now that she is she mobile she gets into all sorts of things (dog water bowl).
Austin met up with his cousin Klayton and his papa Cliff's to work on their pinewood derby cars. He really wanted to make his car into an arrow. When I asked him why he said because his cousins' car was an arrow last year and it was fast.
Giving his arrow car a paint job.
I love the looks on some of the boys faces!
Austin's car (the green arrow) won 1st place and he was super excited about that!!
1st--2nd--3rd place
I think Craig and Jeff are just lucky that Cliff knows how to build the derby cars, enjoys it, and does it so well that they don't have to.
Cousin Love
Watch out....she won't bite but she will try to suck on your face!
Mikayla begged me to do a bake sale so on the last day of April that is what we did. We had the kids cousins over and spent several hours doing the prep work. Mikayla and Kambria worked on the fruit-loop necklaces.
Austin and Klayton dipped the oreos in white chocolate and sprinkles.
I sent out a text to our neighbors and family in town about their bake sale and we had lots of visitors and some great tippers!
It was a bake sale success!!
