June Fun

The first week of June, Austin participated in a tennis camp. When I asked him if he would be interested in doing it he said yes so I took him over to the tennis courts to try it out and he loved it. He learned a lot and had a fun time getting to do it with his friends Jax and Madeline.
I gave Mikayla the option of doing tennis camp also but after trying it out one night she chose not to.  "Next year" she said.
Celebrated my 35th (yikes!) birthday! Don't really feel that old but I guess I am.
The kids each made me a cake (with the help of my mom).
 Enjoying a summer time snack.
The kids were excited to head to the pools and do some swimming.
We went to Frontier pool several times in June with their cousins.
The birds kept trying to build a nest in our front entry way which Craig would quickly knock down. We wouldn't have a problem with them building a nest except at this location because their droppings land right in front of our front door. But when we were gone for a week in Florida, the mama bird built her nest and laid some eggs. There was no knocking it down after that. Instead the kids watched the eggs turn into baby birds which grew bigger. For a couple days we enjoyed watching them as they were perched on the very edge of nest as the mama bird flew around. We determined they were learning how to fly by watching her and before we knew it, they were gone from their nest.
Playing in the "sand" which was actually dirt while their dad's were playing church softball.
Swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Reid's house.
They discovered they can use the flotation toys to create waves in the pool.
Brooklyn is pretty content to play with the water just not really in the water.
We finally made it out to Kiddie Park. Even though the rides are a little on the boring side for Austin, he was a good sport and made it fun for his sisters.

I determined that Austin isn't one that really likes the spinning rides. He told Kayla to stop spinning cause he was getting sick when she was barely even touching the wheel.

We purchased Brooklyn a new toddler bed in hopes to get her using it before the baby gets here. She was super excited about it and slept went to bed in it the first night without any problems.
Mike came into town a couple days with some of his kids so we spent a night out at Dave's house swimming. Somehow the dad's convinced the kids that having a belly flop contest would be fun. The kids put on quite a show and we all had a few laughs.
And Papa Dave is always prepared with ice-cream for everyone.
Brooklyn loves to cruise around in the car with anyone who is willing to drive her around.
We did a session of swim lessons in June.
The kids were both excited because they each had a cousin in their class.
Austin passed the Sailfish class and Mikayla passed the Lionfish class.

On Tuesdays, these girls went to gymnastics so there was a little time after swim lessons to kill.
Most of the time we would sit outside by the water fountain and eat a snack.
One time the kids went over to a train that was nearby.
And had a fun time ringing the bell.

Choo Choo!!
Kayla is really enjoying her gymnastic class this summer especially because her cousin Kambria does it with her. She is working hard on bridges and handstands.

Austin and Mikayla had their yearly eye check-up and discovered that they both have a weak eye and needed glasses to strength that eye (hopefully just temporarily). They were both excited about getting them. That excitement with Kayla lasted about a few hours till she realized that wearing them all the time is kind of bothersome. It was a fight the first couple days getting her to wear them and after 4 days she left them on our bed and Brady decided they would make a fun chew toy. We had a long talk and she had to apologize to the eye doctor for not being responsible. Since then she has been much better about it.
On June 28th, we celebrated our 12th year anniversary. We went to the Warren Theater and had dinner brought to our reclining seats while we watched Jurassic Park. Then we played some mini-golf and stopped to get Braums ice-cream before heading back home.
It has been a wonderful 12 years and I am so lucky to have this guy as my best friend, partner, and husband for eternity! I love the beautiful life that we have created together and as the song says "Grow old along with me....the best is yet to be!!"
(Braxton and Austin)
We've been enjoying some swimming time in our neighborhood pool.

And have made a couple trips to the Splash pad.
June has been full of summer fun!!
On to July!
