We did a couple fun things over fall break. We went swimming at the Phillips pool.
At first they were disappointed the diving board was broken but they ended up playing a game with the balls and stayed in the shallow end the whole time we were there.
And of course these girls had fun too.
So many fun things to play with.
We spent a day and drove over to Natural Springs State Park which was about 2 hours away. A friend had mentioned this place to me and we wanted somewhere new to go hiking so we decided to try it out. It was perfect and fun and the best day trip ever according to Craig.
We started off the day by taking a hike
(All of us minus Jeff cause someone had to take the picture)
The above view of Dripping Springs
Walking down to the view below
It was a beautiful little place. There is actually a 77 foot waterfall that flows down but because of the time of year it wasn't flowing. We will definitely plan to go back next time when it is there.
A couple family pictures
Another pic of Dripping Springs
And off we go to continue to hiking
It was actually a beautiful hike. The weather was so nice and being outside enjoying nature with good company was just refreshing!!
Of course the kids enjoyed doing a little rock climbing and river crossing
Even the little ones were having a fun time
Beautiful fall colors were just beginning to surface
It was a great hike and good way to start the day.
After the hike we grilled some hot dogs and brauts for lunch followed by s'mores.
After lunch the Dad's played some Frisbee golf.
They had an 18 hole course and Craig said it was a great one!
Meanwhile the kids played on the playground
And us mom's enjoyed some social time
Mikayla LOVED the tire swing. She literally played on that thing for an hour straight. Her friends eventually got dizzy and wandered to other things.
While the girls were on the playground, the boys spent their time in the sand at the horseshoe pit.
They stayed there for 2 hours and we kept wondering what it was they were creating.
They created a huge roller coaster with sand and sticks and it even had a tunnel that the "track" went through. It was amazingly creative.
It was a fantastic day!!
