Halloween: Trick or Treat

For Halloween the kids were a Ninja, a princess, and batgirl

We went to the Trunk-or-Treat at our church
At first Brooklyn wasn't quite sure what was going on but after a few cars she quickly caught on to the trick-or-treating thing.
Katelyn hung out with Grandma
Ninja Austin and his cousin Ninja Klayton
Taking a break
Digging through the hay to find quarters at our neighborhood Halloween party
I don't think Brooklyn understood what she was suppose to be doing but she tried anyways
Austin was kind enough to find quarters and give them to some of the others who couldn't find some including Brooklyn
Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood with cousins and the Gunnell kids

And the highlight is always the scary house of the neighborhood.
Happy Halloween!!

Halloween: Pumpkin Carving

We did our traditional pumpkin carving with family again this year.
Austin is always a good sport about de-gutting the pumpkin.

He even got some help from his dad this year!
Brian thought about it....but that's as far as he got.
The girls spray painted their pumpkins. It worked out so well last year that we decided to do it again.

Then they added glitter, buttons, and jewels to glam it up!

 Beautiful!

On Halloween my parents did some pumpkin carving at their house and Kayla really wanted to do it. I was actually surprised that she stuck with it from beginning to end.
The finished pumpkins
(Travis also thought about it....but that's as far as he got)
Hard to see them in the light but they all turned out great!

Halloween: Fun Treats

I love doing fun things with food around holidays! I always have big intensions and lists of things I want to do but somehow life just passes too fast and before I know it there is no time left. But we did manage to do a few fun things with food for Halloween.
Made this for a FHE treat
Craig loved it so much he asked me to do one for his food day at work
My mom did her annual fun Halloween dinner with the kids. They get so excited about this and it is always fun to see what new food ideas she comes up with. It is a lot of work on her part but I think she secretly enjoys it.

 So much fun!!
Made these mummy cupcakes for a family in our church. They turned out pretty cute.
And we did these for our neighborhood Halloween party.
Sounded like the spider eggs were a hit!

Halloween: Pumpkin Patch

Mikayla's 1st grade class took a trip to Annabella's pumpkin patch.

They got to feed some of the animals.

 Walking through the corn maze

Taking a ride on the train

 Class tug-o-war

Picking out a pumpkin

We also went to the Carmichael's Pumpkin Patch as a family along with Jeff and Andrea's family.
The kids got to see some llamas.

 Feeding the goats

And picking out a pumpkin!
