Mikayla loves to create. She enjoys doing crafts and spends a lot of time coloring, drawing, or writing stories or love notes to her family members.
Mikayla loves school. She likes to read and is getting pretty good at it. She will often play school at home and sets up her room as the classroom with kids nametags taped to the floor.
Mikayla loves friends. She is our social child and is always asking to play with someone.
Mikayla loves attention. She does not like to be alone and is always looking for a listening ear or someone to talk to, someone to watch her, or someone to do something with her.
Mikayla loves to be a leader. Sometimes her stubbornness and desire to be in charge gets her into trouble but hopefully she will learn how to channel that desire in a positive way that will push and inspire others to do good things.
Mikayla loves to give things to people. She is always wanting to give away stuff from home to friends. She even snuck her Shopkins that she got for her birthday into her backpack and gave them away at school.
Mikayla loves to mother. She enjoys playing with children younger than her and Brooklyn fits into that role nicely. Recently I was setting up a play date for Mikayla and let her pick who she wanted to invite. She chose to invite over a 4 year old boy and his 2 year old sister. On her birthday, I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said "a babysitter!"
And Mikayla LOVES her blanket. So much so that I can't convince her to get rid of it. The blanket doesn't look so bad from the picture but it is old and chewed on. Last year for her birthday she got a Sofia blanket so I thought for sure I could get her to give it up but she still won't do it.
Mikayla was made to feel pretty special on her birthday. She woke up to balloons on her bedroom floor and her favorite breakfast--donuts brought by Grandma Reid. She was then picked up from school by Craig for a lunch date. She chose to eat at Chili's. During school, each of her classmates drew a picture and wrote something nice to Mikayla.
teacher at church, and ice-cream at Braums.
Mikayla was super excited about having a birthday party with friends. She enjoyed writing out her invitations and delivering them. She chose to have her birthday party at one of our favorite parks.
Silly faces
Mikayla was most excited about the piñatas. One day we were at Walmart and saw the piñatas and she asked what they were. When I explained them to her she begged for one so I told her that would be a great idea for her birthday and she didn't forget about that. She was so excited about them.
Everybody at the party took turns youngest to oldest hitting the piñatas with a stick until the candy fell out. The cupcake didn't take too long but the ghost was quite the challenge.
Mikayla got lots of fun presents. She ended up with lots of crafts which is what she loves to do.
Happy Birthday Mikayla!!!
