Summer Vacation Part 3--White Water Rafting

Early friday morning we left the hotel and drove further north to Fort Collins Colorado.
Todays adventure: White Water Rafting on The Cache La Poudre River
I have been really excited about this since rafting is something I have been wanting to do for years. Craig volunteered to stay with the kids so I could go and have some fun (what a great husband).
We all got quite a laugh when Matt put on the gear he was given to wear which was a little too small.
All geared up and ready to go
Mike, Andrea, Me, Nate, Dave and Kristi were in one raft. Right after getting in the water we headed into some rapids and had to immediately learn how to follow our guides directions. Luckily we caught on fast and were able to maneuver through the rocks and rapids without any problems.
Matt, Stephanie, Kelsey, Maddie, Sariah, and Tanner were in the other raft had a little more trouble starting off and got stuck on a rock for a period of time (in their defense they did have several young inexperienced rafters). But once they got free they did great the rest of the trip.
There were a few water fights going on as we traveled down the river.
At one point during the trip we stopped on the side of the river at a designated "swimming spot" for those who dared to jump into the cold Colorado mountain river. I really don't like swimming in cold water but knew I would regret not taking advantage of this moment.
Me, Andrea, Maddie and Sariah headed in
And BRRRR!! It was cold.....as you can tell by those faces. I'm actually the one on the back left who is smiling. It was cold and my whole body was tingling but it was fun!!
Our amazing guides created this raft slide. Once again I wasn't going to wimp out so there I go.....
Nate, Dave, and Kristi were in charge on the right side of our raft
Mike, Andrea, and me took control of the left side of the raft.

Our paddle high-five.
It was so much fun and something that I really want to do again!!
