Kiddie Park (summer bucket list)

We went to Kiddie Park a few times over the summer although I am wishing we had gone more. Brooklyn and Katelyn are the perfect age for this place and Mikayla loves to go and help!

Going up on the roller coaster----hands up!
I even took Katelyn on the roller coaster.....she was a little scared but didn't cry.

Never too old to enjoy the Kiddie Park Roller Coaster!

We will be back for more Kiddie Park fun next summer!!

Children's Museum

Our next door neighbors for the last 4 years got a job transfer so we decided to go on one final outing together before they left. Mikayla and Jackson are the same age, were in the same Pre-K class at school, and have been friends ever since.
So to the Tulsa children's museum we went.

And the kids had a fun time exploring, playing, and creating!
Afterwards we had a picnic lunch outside.
And discovered that squirrels will eat watermelon and veggie straws. At least this one will!

Then we cooled off at the splash pad!
I really enjoyed being neighbors with this gal! I was always impressed with how often she spent time finding opportunities to help and serve in the community especially when it involved children.
Best wishes to the Gerber Family!!

Summer Bucket List--July

Mikayla and Kambria put on a successful bake sale complete with watermelon cupcakes, flower sugar cookies, popcorn balls, and sprinkle cookies! The little ones were there to help taste the goods!
Bowling Time....just us!
I will admit it is usually easier to invite friends on outings because the older kids enjoy their friends and don't fight with each other. But this time we didn't. There may have been a few arguments surrounding who's turn it was or keeping the scorecard...but we survived and I think we had fun! Haha!
Homemade popsicles--the easy way--take your pick!
(Blue Hawaiian Punch, Pink Lemonade, Red Hawaiian Punch, Sunny-D)
Sidewalk Chalk and more homemade popsicles!
Do A Large Puzzle---when I picked this summer activity I had visions of sitting for periods of time with my older kids having meaningful conversations while we tackled this 550 piece puzzle together. Haha! Mikayla was immediately turned off with the challenge. Austin sat down with me a couple times but didn't last long. It was mostly completed by myself and family/friends who were over and drawn to it.

 Make Tie-Dye Shirts
Much easier than I thought and they turned out super cute!
Sprinkler under the trampoline....
Always a great way to beat the heat!

Drive In Movies---Despicable Me 3
We went on a Thursday night this time which was perfect because it wasn't very crowded so we could get up close to the outdoor movie screen.
Always a fun way to put a twist on watching a movie!
Game Night
One Sunday evening we had the kids each pick out a game they wanted to play and we played all of them together. Mikayla made the comment "we should do this every Sunday!"

Summer Swimming

Like every hot summer in Oklahoma we spend lots of our time in the water!

Our first time at Frontier pool Katelyn was brave enough to go down the slides with help. But from then on she was doing them all by herself. Just trying to keep up with her siblings I guess.

The whirlpool is always a big hit at Frontier pool. The older kids spend a lot of time here.
I think Craig is a little outnumbered!
Splash pad fun!!!
At the beginning of the summer these two were splash pad wallflowers and spent most of their time around the perimeter avoiding the cold splashing water.
But that didn't last long!Meeting friends down at our neighborhood pool was always a special treat!!

(almost) 2 year old tantrum because I wouldn't let her eat the sunscreen.
"Strike a Pose" at Dave and Debbie's pool
I saved these 2 pictures for last to brag on Mikayla. Most of the time she is such a great helper with her younger sisters. And not because she has to, or because I ask her too, but because she wants to. And I love that about her!
Sisters are the best!!
