It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

 Decorating the Christmas Tree
The ornaments the kids picked out this year

I love our Christmas tree filled with special ornaments the kids have made or picked out over the years.
Mikayla's winter party at school was an ornament party.
She made several ornaments that day with the help of her Grandma Vicki.
At Austin's winter party they decorated gingerbread houses.
Austin is getting a little too big to sit on Santa's lap but was still eager to tell Santa what he wanted which was a bike and a "police car that goes really fast."
Kayla told Santa the first time that she wanted a Hello Kitty Bike and the second time she saw Santa she told him she wanted a Princess Bike. Just like a girl to change her mind.
And Brooklyn was adorable sitting on Santa's lap
What do you think---Naughty or Nice????

Trip to Utah

In the middle of December, me and Brooklyn flew up to Utah for my sister's wedding.
Brooklyn's first plane ride
She was perfect on the plane--both on the way to Utah and on the way back.
We spent the first night down in Provo with my Grandma Reid. We enjoyed spending some time with her and she got to meet her newest great-grandchildren.
 Dayleigh, Nathan, Travis, Jessica, Dariann
These two cousin born only a month apart got to meet each other for the first time.
Brooklyn starting playing a little rough.
First the foot then the hand.
Luckily, I think Matthew forgave her.
We had a great time going to The Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert.
(Also there was Jeff and Jamie, Brandon and Jenna. and Travis' parents and grandparents).
It was a great show with singing, orchestra, dancing, story-telling, and the organ solo was probably the most jaw-dropping performance. His movement on the foot pedals was amazing!!
We spent a couple nights up in Centerville at my Grandma and Grandpa Hirschi's house.
These two just couldn't get enough of each other.
We got to spend a few hours visiting Tyler and Jackie at their new home.

Then on Saturday December 14, 2013 we watched Jessica and Travis get married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.
It was a beautiful wedding and Jessica braved the cold like a champ.

Sunday evening we went back to Temple Square in the evening to see the lights. So beautiful!!

I can't think of anywhere else that is more inspiring and breathtaking than temple square.
It was a great way to end such a great weekend!

Snow Days

Last year we went the whole winter with almost no snow but this year we've already had 2 snow storms at the beginning of December.
When the kids woke up and discovered the snow they couldn't wait to go outside and play in it.

And whenever we get a measurable amount of snow we always take the opportunity to go sledding. (even if it is blistering cold outside)
And it's nice knowing that when it snows, I can call my sister-in-law because sledding is in the back of her mind also.
We also had Kayla's friend Jackson come and join in on some sledding fun as well.

We've trained these kids pretty well. Even if it is 19 degrees or 30 degrees outside we bundle up, grab our sleds, and always have a good time.

4 Months Old

This little sweetie of ours is now 4 months old and time is flying fast. She is no longer a tiny little newborn but is getting bigger everyday.
Brooklyn's first taste of rice cereal.
She is discovering more about the world around her everyday. She loves to look around at things, loves to smile at people and her laugh is contagious. She recognizes her bottle, likes to reach and grasp things, enjoys her bath, and sleeps good at night (mostly).
 Brooklyn's First Snow
Our family just adores her. She has such an easy-going temperament and everyone says she is the best baby they have ever seen. I think they are right!!
