3rd Night of Halloween

While we were in OKC we enjoyed some dirt cups.
And we had to use the scary glasses again...they are just so fun!!

Fall Break cont...

On Friday of fall break we drove down to OKC to spend some time with our family that lives there. We went to a place called JumpZone which was awesome!!!
They had smaller inflatable play structures like this one
And they had huge inflatables like this octopus ship
Austin LOVED it....I could hardly keep track of him because he was going from one thing to the next
Kayla LOVED it too....at first she stayed on the normal swing sets & slides
(she has always been afraid of the inflatables)
But she decided to go down the firetruck inflatable and LOVED it
and went down it over and over again!!
Batman Inflatable.....most of the time I could find Austin and Jessica together.
Austin was moving so fast around this place that at times even Jessica had a hard time keeping up with him.
Jessica, Nathan, Katie, Derek, Austin, Mikayla, Meagan
It was a another super fun day!!

Nights of Halloween

On the 2nd night of Halloween we watched
the movie Scared Shrekless.
And enjoyed some Reese's Pieces Popcorn...YUMM!!

Fall Break

I was looking foward to Fall Break because it meant Austin would be home and we could enjoy doing some things outside of the normal day to day routine. On Wednesday we didn't go anywhere...there was no hurrying to get dressed or eat breakfast.....instead we just "chilled" at home and did whatever we wanted that sounded fun. It was nice. That night Austin's cousins spent the night.
Austin discovered this balloon trick and they had a fun time putting them up and knocking them down.
Then on Thursday, me and the kids went to the Tulsa Zoo with their cousins and the twin boys my sister-in-law babysits. We had a fun time.
5 Little Monkeys
(good job Klayton on the head turn to match the monkey's body)
This little guy is a monkey for sure!!!
 Kayla petting the goats
(not pictured but the boys really have no interest in the goats anymore....they spent this time climbing on the tree branches on the ground or climbing up on the tree stubs...a true boy!)
Group shot
(minus the twins who were content in the stroller)
Anaconda.....usually this thing is in the water so we don't really get to see it very clearly. But today it was very visable....and something I definately would never want to meet up with outside of the zoo.

On top of the rock climb
These girls are super cute together and good friends
 Playing around
At the end of our zoo day we were lucky to walk by one of the workers who had brought out this owl to show. This owl only had one eye and so has becoming a teaching owl at the zoo. We learned some interesting things about owls....mainly an owl CANNOT spink his head all the way around (just is case you were wondering). It was a fun day at the zoo!

13 Nights of Halloween

Halloween is actually one of my favorite holidays!! This year I decided to try to make Halloween more fun by doing 13 Nights of Halloween....which is basically doing something every night that relates to halloween (this idea came from a friend of mine who does this with her kids and I thought it looked like fun).

So for night #1 the kids and I made ghosts and bats and hung them on the lights above our dining room table.
That night we wore spooky glasses while we ate dinner.
The kids thought these were so fun!!

Pumpkin Patch

On Tues Oct 18th, Austin's pre-k class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch and me and Kayla got to join him the for the day.
It was fun to watch Austin interact with the kids from his class.

Austin standing in line with his class while holding his sister's hand...it's nice to catch those sweet big brother moments.
Taking the tractor ride out to the pumpkins....those are BIG wheels!!

 Austin and his pumpkin
 Kayla and her pumpkin
Austin's pre-K class
And the highlight of the trip for Austin was getting to ride the bus for the first time!! He was excited about that. It was a fun day!

School Carnival

A couple weeks ago we took the kids to the carnival at Austin's school and had a great time.
Austin the pirate and Kayla the princess
I really got lucky with Halloween costumes this year because Kayla got her princess dress on her birthday and Austin got his pirate stuff at Disneyworld (minus the clothes which we borrowed)...so the total cost of costumes this year was ZERO!!!
The school classrooms were set up with all sorts of games and the kids had a great time playing all of them.
And of course after every game they got to pick out a piece of candy so that made it even more rewarding for them.
Austin did great at this game and got all the balls into the hole. He did better than I would have done.
This game was called "The potty toss!" I thought it was pretty funny. It was a fun night and a great kickoff to all the halloween festivities.

Woolaroc 8K Road Race

I've been looking forward to running this race for the last couple months. I did it last year and though it is a challanging run because of the hills it is also enjoyable because of the scenery. I thought that I had prepared pretty well for the hills but they still were quite a challenge.
I finished with a time of 49 min and 33 sec.....which is over 5 minutes faster than last year!! I was pretty happy about that. Here are some of the other girls that also ran the race--Kelly (Amy's high school friend), Amy (my early morning running partner), me, and Sara (high school friend). It was a good run!!

Time-Out

I have often seen Kayla playing with her baby dolls and putting them in time out.  Well one day she was busy playing with her birthday balloons and I laughed so hard when I discovered what she was doing.  She put all of her balloons in time-out!!  Then she took one of the balloons and held it next to another one and said "say your sorry". Then she tossed the balloon in the other room and said "okay go play".  She did this repeatedly with all her balloons until they all had said that they were sorry. Such a silly girl!!

ABC's

Austin is doing so well in school......I think he actually loves going to school. He walks into the classroom so confidently now and it is fun to see other kids saying hi to him in the hallways. His interest at home in drawing and writing has greatly increased and he is getting really good at recognizing and writing his letters. I just can't believe this little boy is getting so big.
