Girl's Weekend

I loved every minute of this much needed girl's weekend in OKC!!
Friday night we ate dinner at The Melting Pot and enjoyed every delicious bite of cheese fondue, salad, and chocolate fondue!
Then we walked around Bricktown.

We walked around the Oklahoma City Memorial which was so beautifully done!

We spent the whole day Saturday at RiverSport Adventures having so much fun!
The best part was the white-water rafting. We got to experience class III rapids at a much faster pace then a normal rafting trip in the mountains.
We went straight into those waves and the water poured right into our raft. It was awesome!
We took full advantage of everything this place had to offer. We did the ropes course to the top then zip lined across the river.
We tried out the paddle boards and kayaks.
And we even went on the extreme inflatable water-slides. I felt like a kid again!
At the end of the day they turn the river rapids down and let you go tubing down the river.
I thought it would be mild like a lazy river but it was way more exciting! We did it several times!
I had so much fun playing, talking, and laughing till I cried with these wonderful friends!

More Summer Stuff

Austin attended a basketball camp with his friend Russell for a couple days at the beginning of summer break. Soccer is Austin's thing so I was very proud of him for being brave and trying something new! And he seemed to have a fun time too!
Not sure how Katelyn convinced him into this one!
I told Craig that all I wanted for my birthday was for him to make me a birthday cake. I don't think he took me seriously at first but I was serious. In all our years of marriage I can't hardly think of a time I have seen him follow a recipe. I even told him he could use a box cake mix. So he honored my birthday wish and made me a birthday cake. Great job honey!!
These girls decided to put on an art show. They spent a lot of time coloring and then had people vote on the 5 pictures they liked the best. The kept tally marks to determine the winner.
Love this picture of the kids with their dad that we took on Father's Day! He does so much for them and loves them more then they will ever know!
Summer days are long and busy and exhausting at times--gotta catch a snooze when you can!
Friends and Frosty's---the perfect combination!!
This silly girl put herself in the dog cage while we were at my sister's house.
Kristi and Chris blessed their new baby during the summer.
Austin participated in a 3x3 soccer tournament. They did a great job and came in 2nd place.
Family game of Frisbee golf----quite the sight to see I'm sure!
These little ones have just learned how to tag along and make the best of it!
Keep on dreaming girls!

Yes that was my kid in Walmart wearing his dad's shoes because he forgot to bring his own. And yes that was my kid eating someone's candy that was dropped on the floor who knows how long ago #improvising #notworththefight #parentingatitsfinest

Science Camp

Last year DIY science camp was so much fun for both the kids and the moms that we decided to do it again this summer!
Day 1 in my words:
"The kids made water bottle rockets that we launched into the air with a vinegar/baking soda chemical reaction. We took the STEM challenge "How many drops of water can you put on a coin?" We had fun making tie-dye shirts and they turned out super cute! Then we ended the morning playing with un-poppable bubbles!!! The kids loved getting to hold the bubbles and bounce them around on their hands. It was a great day!"

Day 2 in Lisa's Words:
"Co-Op DIY Science Camp was at my house today! We learned all about gravity and how we can manipulate it with air resistance, friction, outside forces, and the amount of slope in an inclined plane. The kids made pool noodle marble tracks that went all the way from upstairs to downstairs with awesome tricks like loopy-loops! I was so impressed with how well they worked in teams to create and problem solve! They also got to make pool noodle pom-pom shooters, make toilet paper fly off a roll, test gravity by dropping different types of objects, and more! I couldn't get the Pom-Pom shooters to work, and the kids were to ones to figure out how to fix them. Such smart little scientists in the making!!!"

Day 3 in Andrea's words:
"We started camp by making homemade ice cream. Each of the kids added their own ingredient and then helped add the ice and ice cream salt to the outside. Next we made it rain in a jar with water, shaving cream and food coloring (note to self, next time don't make the shaving cream so thick that the food coloring won't go through). Next, and probably their favorite part, and most time consuming, we made fluorescent bouncy balls. Each... of them were given a color to mix and knead together. Once their color was done, we divided the colors among each other to make a colorful bouncy ball blend. We also made colorful rock art with hot rocks and crayons. And last we made a sudsy messy eruption. Oh yeah, and somewhere along the way, we ate our homemade ice cream as a snack. It's safe to say these kids had a blast at science camp this week."
