School's Out For Summer!

My friend and I surprised our kids when they got off the bus on the last day of school by throwing water balloons at them which quickly turned into a water balloon fight!

Then we headed down to the neighborhood park to enjoy the giant slip-n-slide
that was set up to celebrate the end of a school year!!

So much fun!!
After soccer practice we met up with cousins at Sonic and enjoyed some play time and tasty treats to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation!!!

School Teachers

And another school year has come and gone. Austin had Mrs. Walker for 4th grade which was the same teacher Craig had when he was in 5th grade. We got a good laugh out of that. Austin enjoyed his 4th grade year. I don't think I ever heard him complain once this last year about going to school. I remember him getting excited about the origami frogs they made one day in class and about the bottle flip competition they had at the end of the school year. Mrs. Walker definitely did know how to play into the kids interests and keep things fun!
Mikayla loved her 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Sedersten and named her as one of her favorite teachers. Mikayla made great improvements in her reading and was super excited and proud of herself for learning how to write in cursive.
Brooklyn felt like a big kid going to "school" one day a week at a mother's day out program. She enjoyed her teacher Ms. Jeannine and did great at a school type environment.
So hard to believe she will be going to pre-K this fall!

May Fun

Park time and sister time! It is super cute to watch Brooklyn be a helper for Katelyn!
Matt came into town for a few days to visit which was a surprise to Chris and Kristi and new baby McKenzie! We enjoyed a family game night at our house.
Mikayla and Kambria were in a Bite Size Broadway class for the last couple months and put on their show performance in May. It involved singing, dance gestures, and a speaking line or two.
Kambria was a cute little bunny in the show and Mikayla was the bald eagle who had just returned from Hawaii....lol...it was a fun little activity for them and they seemed to enjoy it.
The kids performed in their piano recital and did a great job!
They are lucky to have one of the best piano teachers ever--their grandma Vicki!
Brooklyn has continued to do gymnastics and loves it! And having lots of little friends in her class makes it even that much more fun!
Tried to capture one of Katelyn's favorite things to do.....suck her thumb and twirl her hair.
She usually does this when she is relaxing and getting tired.
Since our previous soccer coach had to leave to start his new job in Texas, Craig coached the boys in the first round of the President's Cup Tournament. They did great, won their games, and advanced which was a great accomplishment for them!
Taking Abby on a walk around the block while the girls ride the car.
Trying to keep up with them is a good workout for both Abby and me!
Mikayla made a schooldays countdown.....only 5 days left of school on this day!
The kids have some new friends! Austin has been taking them out of the nest so they can practice flying. Thankfully the mother bird still comes back to take care of them. One sad day they will fly away but until then......#furyfriends #bestkindofpet
At least a couple times a week we pick up Craig from work and go to the gas station for a snack while the older kids are in school. Brooklyn usually picks out chips or skittles.

Katelyn decided to try out my sister's dog cage
Nailed that 5 mile run on the pathfinder! I've been trying to keep up my running habits but need to get signed up for a race real soon to keep me motivated!
We had our very first garage sell! Mikayla was so excited about this. She helped gather items, price them, and set them out. She was up by 6:15 that morning, dressed and ready to go!
#excitedlikechristmasmorning
We chased down the ice-cream truck in the neighborhood for a sweet treat! Mikayla said "I have never seen an ice-cream truck in my whole life!" I don't think that is actually true but nevertheless they were excited! Mikayla even tracked the truck down later with her bike to get some dippin dots ice-cream for Austin!

Tulsa Zoo

Brooklyn loves to play with the neighbor boys across the street--Lincoln and Anderson. We decided to take a day and go to the zoo before school got out for the summer.

We hadn't been to the zoo since last fall so they had a lot of fun!

School Track Meet

We went to watch Austin participate in the elementary school track meet with all the 4th and 5th graders from the elementary schools in town.
Austin ran the 200 meter dash and advanced to the finals and finished in 3rd place!
He also participated in the 400 meter relay with his friends Ryan, Thatcher, and Braxton.
Their team advanced to the finals and also came in 3rd place!
Poor Brooklyn! After spending a couple of hours outside at her brother's track meet she couldn't stay awake long enough on the way home to enjoy her ice-cream cone!
