12 years old

On March 2nd, our dog Abby turned 12 years old!
For her birthday she got a nice walk, a big juicy bone and lots of luvs!
Happy Birthday Abby! So happy to have you as part of our family!!!

Jan/Feb Wrap Up

Went to Utah for my grandma's funeral. I love visiting Utah! It was nice getting to hang out with some of my siblings that I don't get to see too often!! Wish we all lived closer!
Mikayla and Kambria were invited to a sleep over at Chris and Kristi's house.
They had fun making cookies and doing fingernails.

Just as we were putting the kids to bed we got the notice that school was cancelled the next day due to predicted bad weather the next morning. So the kids got to stay up and watching a movie instead.
Austin and his cousins are now Frisbee golf players thanks to their dads. Austin even spent some of his birthday money to buy his own discs.
We have had a very mild winter with temps even into the 70's during January and February. So we have taken advantage of that and have been out to the parks several times the last couple months.

Mikayla has been enjoying activity days. Playing Pie in the Face.....one of her favorites!

I'm sure she enjoyed every minute of it!
Austin did a book report on Jackie Robinson and had the assignment to portray him with a pop bottle and a styrofoam ball. This was the finished product. He turned out pretty good!
Playing PJ Mask
Craig's best friend growing up is moving to Japan with the Air Force. So he came for a visit and they enjoyed playing Frisbee golf and hanging out together.
I started Brooklyn in a gymnastics class and she loves it!!! She has lots of church friends in her class which makes it even more fun. She wishes everyday was a gymnastics day!
Craig and I made a visit to the OKC temple. We were able to do some sealings and an endowment session for some of Craig's family line through his dad's side. Hoping to make more trips to the temple this year!
We met Bristol at the park on one of those warm February days.

More frisbee golf. I'm glad they enjoy doing these things together!
Kids have been having lots of fun riding around on the cars. Brooklyn is now a trusted driver and begs to go outside and ride cars all the time!!
Even Katelyn loves being driven around by her older siblings!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Mikayla's school put on a Daddy Daughter Dance and to my surprise they both wanted to go!
Mikayla was even more excited about going when her cousin decided to come with her dad too!
 Daddy Daughter Dancing
(won't be too long before she is dancing with boys.....YIKES!!)

They had a fun time but did sneak out early to go to Chili's for dessert!
What a great daddy daughter date night!!

OSU Game/Grandma Day

When I bought OSU basketball tickets for Craig's birthday I figured he would take Austin to the game. But he decided to take me and then it grew from just the 2 of us to several of us.
We arrived in Stillwater several hours before the game so there was time for Frisbee golf, lunch, and shopping before game time.
Even though OSU was picked as the probably winner of the game, it was OU that was in the lead the entire game until the last couple minutes when OSU pulled in from behind and won the game! It was great game to go to!

And while we were all at the game, the six girls spent the day being entertained at Grandma's house.

Glad that Aleesha was able to be there to help out!
The girls did service for Grandma and helped pick up all those pokey balls that fell from her tree in the front yard.

They ended the evening with popcorn, ice-cream, and the movie Trolls!
It was a super fun day for everyone!!

18 months old

Stats:
Height: 33 1/4 inches
Weight: 25 lbs 14 ounces
How did this little cutie go from a tiny baby to a toddler so fast!! She is now old enough to go into the Nursery at church. I thought it would take some adjustment but she has eased into it without any problem! She has grown out of her "bully baby" stage and plays better with others most of the time. She is still a little ballerina walking around on her tiptoes. She loves to find shoes around the house and put them on but as soon as she is put into the car seat she will pull off her shoes before I make it out of the driveway. She still uses her thumb to soothe herself when she is tired but now that I have started putting the top of her hair up in a pigtail she will suck her thumb with one hand and twirl her pigtail with the other hand simultaneously. She is a jabber mouth and says a lot of things I don't understand but is also repeating things and saying new words daily. She is a great sleeper and goes down for an afternoon nap and at bedtime without making a fuss. She is quite the little scavenger and constantly opens up the kitchen pantry searching for any food she can reach. I can't even count how many times a day she brings me a fruit snack from the pantry. Her favorite thing to do is jump on the trampoline. She gets on it with her older siblings and holds her own pretty well for how little she is. She has been my healthiest baby and has never had a single ear infection until I took her in for her 18 month check-up and discovered both ears were infected. She never ran a fever or acted extra fussy so I had no idea. Overall she is pretty mild tempered and just kind of goes along with the flow. Out of all our kids though, she has been the one that has put the most things in her mouth and for the longest period of time. In January, she choked on a penny which she ended up swallowing and gave us all a little bit of a scare! But it came out the other end just fine the next day!
We love this tiptoeing, thumb sucking, curly haired little girl!!

Valentine's Day

For school, Mikayla was given the assignment to decorate a shoe-box for Valentine's Day.
She chose to make hers into a cat and had a fun time doing it.

I think it turned out pretty cute and came home filled with valentine's from her friends at school.

Brooklyn also made Care Bear valentines for her friends around the neighborhood. Mikayla and Brooklyn drove around in the new car to hand deliver them.

We tend to keep things pretty simple for Valentine's Day. Craig and I did have a lunch date (with Katelyn) and then we had a Valentine's dinner and desert at home with the kids.
We took turns going around the table sharing the things that we admired and loved about each other!

Super Bowl 2017

We got together with Craig's family for the Super Bowl. Honestly, I can't really even tell you much about the game or who was even playing. I do remember there was a pretty surprising come back at the end. I've just never really cared that much about it. Is that bad? I guess you can say I showed up for the yummy food....haha!
And we did have quite the food selection.
Yep, the Bastings family knows how to eat well!

During half time we played the game Left-Right-Center. Each person brought $3 to the table which meant the last person standing won $48!
And that lucky person was Kambria!
