March Memories

On March 2nd, our dog Abby turned 11 years old.
Present time

She finally got that big bone.....along with a new collar and chase toy.
On March 3rd, Katelyn's first tooth broke through and was found by Austin. And by the end of March she had 2 teeth!
Participated in the Shamrock the Ville 5K....my first timed run since Katelyn was born. I knew I wouldn't beat my fasted 5K pace but got pretty close at 28:45. My goal was under 30 min so I was happy about it. My nephew Connor ran with us and beat us all coming in 2nd for his age group.
Sister Love

We spent an afternoon at the park and Austin and Madeline spent a lot of time making a stick house.
They did a pretty awesome job!
Playing dress up
We were out of town for Kambria's birthday so Mikayla took her out to Braum's to celebrate.
And by the end of March, Katelyn was sitting up by herself. What a big girl!!

Easter Weekend

We had a couple lessons with the kids about Easter and the reason we celebrate it. We had a great Sunday meeting listening to church members bear testimony of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for Christ  and that He was willing to bear and suffer all things so that He would know how we feel, so that we could repent, so that we could return to live with Him again. I am grateful to know that He not only died for me but was resurrected. And because of that miracle, we know that death is not the end. There is life after death. We will see those we have loved and lost again. When you stop and think about that truth of the gospel it is beautiful!! And that is worth celebrating!!
Series of Easter Sunday Pictures:

Trying to get a perfect picture of 4 young kids is almost next to impossible. But we got pretty close!

My 3 beautiful girls!

On Saturday, the kids found their hidden Easter baskets at Dennis and Vicki's house

Somehow Mikayla convinced me to make Easter egg sugar cookies after churchWe had Easter dinner with everyone at Dave and Debbie's house followed by the egg hunt. I was so happy that Brooklyn was finally able to walk after injuring her knee so she could participate.
Aleesha and Nick helped Katelyn find some eggs.

And by the time I was done taking pictures of the 2 little girls hunting eggs, the big kids were already finished finding all the other eggs.
Happy Easter!!

Spring Break--Branson

We also spent the last part of Spring Break in Branson with my parents, Nathan and Dayleigh, Travis and Jessica. We stayed at one of these cottages at Stormy Point.
It may look small from the outside but it was 3 stories and easily enough room for all of us.
We enjoyed eating meals together, hanging out, and playing games.

And of course it can't be a vacation unless these boys get to play some Frisbee golf.
In fact, one game wasn't enough. They even went back a couple days later and played again.
We did some go-cart riding also. It has been quite a while since we took the kids to do that and Branson has some great go-karting tracks. We started at this one.
Then hit another multiple level track. The kids were loving it!!

One of the other courses was smaller and Austin was able to drive his own go-cart. He was super excited about that!!!
Mikayla chose Dayleigh to be her riding partner this time.
Brooklyn had her own fun in one of the kid rides.
We played some mini-golf as well. Boys on one team and girls on another. The boys took the game seriously and kept score.
The girls however just played for fun.
Brooklyn hurt her knee on the trampoline the day we were leaving for Branson and couldn't walk on it so she was wheelchair bound the whole time we were there. But she still figured out how to do things and managed to still have a fun time too.
I was super excited about bringing the kids to Silver Dollar City since it has been at least 4 years since we had been there. We got there early before the rides were even open which worked out perfect because we were able to walk on to several of the rides before things got busier. There was no easing the kids into anything....the first ride we did was the adult roller-coaster Thunderation. And they loved it and asked to do it again!

Austin, Me, Jessica, Dayleigh, and Nathan riding the newest roller-coaster Outlaw Run. I was told by my family that it was pretty intense but Austin said he wanted to do it. He did get nervous about it while we were in line though but I talked him into it. And yes, it was pretty intense with some steep drops that make your bottom rise up off of the seat and cork-screw upside down turns. But Austin took it like a champ even though I am sure he was scared out of his mind!! He got off saying "yeah that was fun" because that is the kind of positive kid that he is. But later that day he said he wouldn't want to do it again.
 Lunch Break
So glad she is a good baby and just kind of goes along with the flow.
These guys went on the cave tour. Austin and Mikayla were at the very front so they got to be the leaders which I am sure they just loved!
 This sign says it all!!
We went on several more rides but just didn't take pictures of everything. We ended our day with riding The Lost River of the Ozarks with some friends of ours who were also there. Glad we had ponchos to keep us mostly dry since the temp was only in the 60's. The kids loved the ride and it was a great way to end the day!
One afternoon I took Austin and Mikayla over to enjoy the pool and hot tub at the resort. And we were there for 3 hours!!
 Just hanging out

Despite having a hurt knee and being limited on what she could do, Brooklyn overall was so good and happy doing the things that she could do!

We also went to a couple shows while we were there. Craig and I took Austin and Mikayla to the Hamner Variety Show which was mostly a magic show. They loved it!!
We also took the kids to the classic Dolly Parton Dixie Stampede.
Mikayla wasn't too thrilled about the dinner and didn't eat hardly anything. Austin wasn't so sure about digging into the chicken with his hands at first but finally did. However, Craig and I both devoured the dinner. And the show was fantastic!!!
It was a great trip with some of my family and a great way to finish off our Spring Break!!
