4th of July

We had lots of fun over 4th of July weekend with family that came into town.
We enjoyed a backyard barbecue at my parents house, some swimming, and game of volleyball.
It was nice having Nathan & Dayleigh and Travis & Jessica, and Brandon in town for several days.
We had fun doing some mini-golf.
The hardest hole of the game
Cutie Brooklyn chillin in the stroller

We also enjoyed going out to Dave and Debbie's house for their traditional 4th of July celebration which consists of grilling, games, and fireworks.

Several of us decided to get a little patriotic with desserts. Andrea made some chocolate covered strawberries which were cute and yummy!
 I made some sugar cookies.

 And Sara did a cake.
And when sliced, your piece came out like this....pretty awesome!!
After dinner we enjoyed a swim in the pool.
 Playing a game of RAGE.
Just hanging out and having fun

Enjoying ice-cream while getting ready for the fireworks to begin.

Brooklyn actually did amazing during the firework show. She got nervous a couple times but mostly just watched the show and actually fell asleep during it.

Happy 4th of July!!

Summer Baseball

Austin tried baseball for the first time.
He had a good group of boys on his team and we really liked his Coaches too because the focused more on teaching and encouraging and having fun than on winning the game.
Baseball is definitely a lot different from the constant moving that comes with soccer but Austin seemed to enjoy it and overall improved from the beginning to the end of the season.
Austin said his favorite position was short-stop but he was also played a lot in the pitcher position.
It took some practice to get the timing right to get a hit and Austin hit several foul balls but toward the end of the season he started getting some better hits into the field.
And these two always had a built in buddy when it was game time. They enjoyed going to the game so they could get treats at the concession stand.
These boys are so lucky that they get to play sports together and on the same team.
That makes it even that much more fun!!
