Spring Soccer 2013

 Team Galaxy
Austin enjoyed playing soccer again this spring and it is fun watching him improve.
Going in for the steal!!
I had to put this picture in just because it is a funny shot of him with his arms in muscle flexing pose.
I don't have any idea why he had his arms up this way.
Shoot and Score!!!
Good Game!!

(minus Braxton who wasn't able to be at the last game)

Craig enjoys being able to coach Austin's team and the kids all enjoy him too.
Four seasons of soccer together and counting! So much fun!

Boys Night and Girls Night

Craig was excited to take Austin and his cousin Klayton to the Father/Son's campout.
Austin kept bringing up that it was a BOYS campout....NO GIRLS allowed.
They ate campfire dinners, played a large game of chase/tag, went canoeing, ate smores, told ghost stories, slept in a tent, ate a pancake breakfast, and then came home. Sounds like they had a good time.
So while the boys were camping, I thought it would be fun to suprise Kayla and take her to one of her favorite places for a mommy/daughter night. We went to Kiddie Park along with her cousin Kambria and her mom.

Kayla was super excited and loved every minute of it.

These girls always have so much fun together.
Going on the rollar coaster

The girls stopped for a while and entertained themselves in these crazy mirrors. And while they were giggling at themselves in the mirror me and Andrea were behind them laughing hysterically as well.

It was a super fun friday night for both the boys and the girls!

April Door of Fame......Sort of

Since we are in the process of selling our home, the door of fame is currently on hold. So instead I just picked a couple things to take pictures of.
Austin's "Wayside Warriors" for the month. I love that he is such a good kid in class and I love that when I pick him up from school, he is always so excited to tell me he got another "Wayside Warrior"
One night while the kids were brushing their teeth Kayla stepped away from the sink for a few minutes and Austin suddenly exclaimed "Kayla you left the water running.....that will kill the dolphins!"  I wasn't quite sure where that idea came from until he brought home this picture from school a couple days later. Appears they had been learning about taking care of the earth in school.

He is getting so big.....where has the time gone?

Library Lego Contest

One day me and Kayla were at the library and noticed a sign for a Lego Contest. I asked Craig if he would like to do that with Austin and he jumped at the idea thinking that it would be fun thing to do together. The basic rules were to get a picture of something and then build that picture with Legos.
So Craig picked out this picture of a castle to attempt to build and invited a friend from work and his son to join us in this project.
We dumped out the large bucket of legos out on the floor to search for the pieces we wanted.
(so glad my mom saved all those legos my brothers played with as kids)
Then the building began.. I'm not sure who had more fun with this....the kids or Craig.

 The finished product
Pretty close to the picture I would say
Austin and T.J. won 1st place in their age category!!!
T.J. is really big into building Legos and was happy to take home the lego set.
On the other hand Austin was thrilled to take home the 1st place ribbon!!
Their winning Lego castle was on display at the library for a couple weeks.
Good job boys!!

50 Days of Scripture Power

We made it to 50 days of reading the scriptures on our chart. We aren't perfect, and sometimes miss a night here or there, but we are improving and getting better and more consistent than we have been in past years so that is a good thing.
Since the weather was nice and we had some extra playmates with us, the kids opted to go to Sonic to celebrate our 50 days of reading.

Having fun playing in the sand
Enjoying a Sonic blast
Gotta love those ice-cream mustaches!!

Planting A Garden

Recently, Austin has taken a real interest in seed and wanting to grow things. He was always eating apples just so he could collect the seeds inside. He even took them outside and planted some in our yard hoping to grow an apple tree. Since we have dogs I knew that trying to grow a garden was not likely an option but I knew someone who grew a garden every year. So I asked Vicki the next time she was going to plant some seeds to see if Austin could come and help because I knew he would really enjoy that. So Grandma Vicki had Austin and Klayton come over one night and they planted green beans, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and cilanto.

Love that they got this special one on one teaching time with their grandma.

 Putting in the seeds
Even Kayla took a break from playing in the yard and planted some seeds

And the fun part......watering

Weeks later we went back and Austin got to enjoy the fruits of their labor.....some fresh garden broccoli!!
