More Snow

About a week after our first snow we got some more...although it was probably more ice than snow.
I decided to take the kids out with their sleds on our driveway to see if we could do some sledding.
And to my suprise it worked out perfectly!
Our steep driveway (which I usually curse) became the perfect hill for some easy sledding.
The kids LOVED it!
 And went down over...
 and over...
 and over again!
Me and Kayla even went down together a few times.
Austin coming down with a snowball in hand.
Which he then threw at me. I love seeing the joy on their faces.
Watching them have so much fun makes it all worth it!!

First Winter Snow

We have actually had a very mild winter again this year. Here is Kayla and Kambria on the swings at the park one saturday in January when temps reached into the 60's.
Kayla and her friend Buddy at the Tulsa Zoo on another nice winter day with temps in the 60's.
 Feeding the baby goats
I was starting to think that we wouldn't get any snow this winter but we did finally get a little on the night of February 12th. The kids couldn't wait to go outside the next morning and play in it before school. Grandma Reid was there so she joined in on the fun.
Snow on the neck and down the shirt is never fun.
Glad they got a few mintues to enjoy the snow because by the time school was over the snow had all melted.

Afternoon Siesta

 Aww....so cute....both of them

Happy Love Day!!

I had lots of fun ideas for things to do for V-day but time has been flying by so fast I have a hard time keeping up these days. Guess those pinterest ideas will have to wait for next year :)
We did make heart sugar cookies.
(I think I ate most of them....they are just so good).
Kayla was super excited about taking her Dora Valentines to the kids at her school.
She wrote her name all by herself on every single one.
Austin gave Avengers valentines to the boys in his class and Brave valentines to the girls.
He enjoyed his class V-day party....especially all the candy he received from his classmates.
Craig suprised me V-day morning with homemade love notes from him and the kids and a nice big box of chocolates. We went out to Chili's together that night for dinner. We reminisced how exactly 5 years ago we ate dinner at Chili's on V-day and I suprised him with a card announcing that I was pregnant (with Kayla). Wow how time flies. So grateful for all the great loves I have in my life.

January Door of Fame

Austin got 7 Wayside Warrior Awards this month. His teacher must of been trying to work on behavior with the kids this month. It's nice knowing that Austin is a rule follower and good listener at school. As he puts it "I never get in trouble!"
See if you can decifer Austin's goals for this year.
And just in case you aren't sure....
Pretty good goals I would say.
Kayla and her letter writing. She is getting really good and can write almost all the letters of the alphabet. This girl is ready for pre-K!!

Bounce U

Since the kids were out for MLK day in January, we decided to head down to Bounce U for some indoor fun. We picked up Connor and Klayton and went with Glen and his kids. The kids LOVE this place and it is 1 and 1/2 hours of non-stop climbing, sliding, entertainment and fun!!
 Going down the large slide...

over and over.....
 and over again!
Craig and Tanner battling it out
Of course it wasn't long before all the kids in the bounce house teamed up against Craig
 Batter up Klayton!
 Teamwork......Austin filling and Connor shooting
 And then switching
Connor and Austin racing through the obstacle course

The object here was to see how high you could run up this inflatable.
Kayla didn't make it too far but was still all smiles about it.
 Austin taking a turn
Connor made it up to the red square
 Katelyn and Kayla hanging out
Austin was able to climb the spidernet all the way up to the top and was pretty proud of himself about that fact.
 Taking a little break
 And having so much fun!!
It's always more fun going with so many friends.
(I have no idea why Austin is frowning)
Before heading back home we stopped to get some ice-cream at Baskin Robbins.
 Elizabeth and her friend
 Tanner and his dad
It was super yummy and a great ending to one spectacular afternoon!!
