Just an Inch to Small

After having our TV sit on a small desk for a year we decided it was time to upgrade. However we couldn't find what we were looking for at a price we were willing to pay. So Craig came up with the idea of building one. Have to admit--I was a little scepticle about this one. So for a few months he and his "instructor" (Andrea's grandpa) built this masterpiece from a pile of wood. I was a little suprised and impressed that Craig enough patience to complete something so involved. And I'm sure he wondered a few times what he had gotten himself into--especially when spending hours at night in the garage sanding this thing. But it looks wonderful!! So the day finally came when we moved it into the family room, lifted our 5 year old tube TV into its proper position, and whala!!---wait a minute---it doesn't fit!!!! It hung off the front end about an inch. And Craig's reply was "but I measured it". He was actually pretty upset about it. So question---do we cut a whole in the back of his masterpiece so we could fit the hug back of our tube TV inside or do we go and get a flatscreen?? Hmmm....now I was wondering if the measurments were off for a reason :) So anyways, we decided to get a new TV (with thanks to Pres Bush's tax rebate). But we love having one place to put all our media stuff (and where Austin can't reach it)......so thanks Craig for all your hard work. It turned out beautiful!!!

IT'S A GIRL

Thursday May 15, 2008
A few weeks ago some of my pregnancy blood tests came back abnormal so I decided to have an amniocentesis done to put my mind at ease that everything was fine. After patiently waiting for two weeks, my doctor's office called today to let me know that the tests came back normal and also confirmed that we are having a baby girl!! I decided it was too exciting of news to share over the phone so I bought some pink baby pajamas, wrapped it up, and took it to Craig at work. Most importantly we are grateful that our baby is healthy, but we are excited about having a baby girl!!!

Yumm! Yumm!

With another baby on the way I decided it would be a good idea for Austin to learn how to feed himself (other than finger foods). So this is his first attempt. He tried to eat the yogurt with a spoon for a little while then he decided to resort to the easier way---using the hands.

I'm A Big Kid Now

Saturday May 3, 2008
The Kiddie Park opened this weekend and we couldn't wait to take Austin. It was a blast and having his cousins Connor and Klayton there made it even funner! Instead of starting on the smaller, more gentle rides like most normal parents would do, Craig took Austin on the roller coaster. It goes around three times and to my suprise Austin lasted the whole ride without crying. I think he was probably just too stunned and scared to remember how to cry. But what a big boy!! Of course after one ride my camera batteries died so I didn't get any other pictures. But there will be many more trips to the Kiddie Park this summer I'm sure. Austin had so much fun on the rides. He loved the boats and the airplanes. However, I think he flashed the biggest smile when he was given a balloon!!
